Hawai’i for under $300,000!

We all know the economic crash affected the industry with foreclosures and short sales on every corner, but we have a unique situation now that the economy has stabilized (a bit). Basically Real Estate just isn’t the cost it was. Every neighborhood and city in America differs of course, and I’m sure in a few places it may be reaching those 2006 prices, but in most, its just not there yet. And Kailua-Kona, Hawaii happens to be one of them. Although our island market has begun to pick up within the past year or so, it has been a slower come back. Can you imagine owning something within a few minutes from the beach for under $300,000.00 in Hawai’i? To me this sounds unimaginable, yet I’m seeing it happen every day.

Even as I write this I questioned my own accuracy, so I just did a quick search on the MLS for everything under $300,000.00. And just like that an entire page of possibilities! Condos all up and down the scenic Ali’i Drive! Even a few single family homes are still available. Search the MLS for yourself!

It’s such an interesting time in Real Estate. Many have chose to jump on board whether it be to buy their first home, their home away from home, or an investment as a vacation rental property. And for many I still hear the questions about timing, is NOW the time to buy or sell? As a Realtor we can never guarantee a sale or perfect time, but what I can give is my observations based on what I’m seeing the market do. And I’m seeing movement, not too fast, just at a steady pace. We can never anticipate the national economy or when a down turn is to come. Every Real Estate market differs town by town, state by state. The question is, do you want to wait and see what the future holds or do you want to create your own future? Hawai’i is a top world destination and if you want a piece of paradise, it won’t wait for you!
